Procedures
Here are a few important tips you will need to know for our class.

A procedure is not a rule. A procedure is simply a process of how things are to be done in the classroom. Classroom procedures increase on-task time and reduce classroom disruptions. Students will be expected to follow classroom procedures at all times. Students will have their procedure manual available in their Reading notebook at all times.
Entering the Classroom:
Pencils should be sharpened before class or during independent/group work. You do not need to ask permission. Please only one person at the sharpener at a time. Colored pencils should only be sharpened using your hand held sharpener NOT the electric!

Entering the Classroom:
- Place your book bag on the hook outside of the classroom. You will not be permitted to get something out of your bag once class has started.
- Enter quietly with the materials listed on the sign outside the door.
- Read the procedure board and copy class work and homework into your planner.

If you are absent:
- Check white board/ agenda board for assignments
- Ask Mrs. Herndon for any additional instructions This is your responsibility!
- Ask permission first! Always remember to sign out on the clipboard by the door.
- You should ask to use the restroom prior to entering the classroom between classes.
- If there is an emergency, ask permission, sign out on the clipboard by the door
- Always leave and enter quietly.
- Wait until Mrs. Herndon ends the class period (the bell does not end the class)
- Clean & straighten up your area (mouse keyboard etc), LOG OFF the computer
- Get your book bag and take out supplies for your next class.
Using computers in the Lab
- When logging onto the computer use only your own personal user name and password provided by the school.
- Flash drives should NOT be used at any time.
- Prepared - Bring your planner, process journal, & pencil every day
- Chair - Adjust your chair immediately and use chair correctly (or lose the privilege)
- Equipment - You break it, you pay bill to fix or replace it. I expect complete honesty in this area!
- Touching - Only touch your computer, keyboard, mouse (or lose computer privileges- you can teach others WITHOUT touching their computer!!)
- Food - No food, drink, gum, etc.
- Do the best for yourself and your neighbors (or be reseated, without discussion or appeal)
- REMEMBER SAVE & SAVE OFTEN!!
If I need to get your attention I raise my hand and will say the word SALAMI
which stands for Stop And Look At ME
